Join us as a member in 2021

Becoming a member of The Royal Watercolour Society of Wales

We always welcome applications to join our society from artists with a connection to Wales, painting in the medium of water-based media, or water based mixed media, on paper.

If you are interested in becoming a member, you will need to submit your CV and a statement giving the reasons you would like to join the society, along with up to 10 good quality images of your work, to the Secretary at rwswsecretary@gmail.com. It would also be useful if you could list the galleries where your work can be viewed. The information should be sent before March 1st. for consideration in that year.

The Secretary will circulate the information from those applicants to Society members. Those applicants will then need to provide 6 pieces of mounted but unframed current work to be considered at the AGM, which will be different from the work previously sent electronically. Society members attending the AGM will then vote by secret ballot on the merit of the work, as to whether applicants will be admitted for membership. A majority vote in favour secures membership. If we are unable to hold a face to face AGM in 2021 the decision will be made at a virtual meeting.

There is a current membership fee of £80 per year, and new members will commence paying their membership in the January after their election to the Society.

Membership fees may be paid as a single payment or by four quarterly payments.

All members are encouraged to attend AGMs each year, to take an active part in the society and to submit work to shows and exhibitions organized by The Royal Watercolour Society of Wales.
