Anita Woods has been painting and drawing since childhood and it had become something of an obsession. She paints in watercolour and water based media and likes to layer up, intensify the colours and paint on a large scale. She takes her inspiration from the wildlife and domestic animals near to her home on the Mid Wales coast.

Anita exhibits in galleries throughout Wales and also runs art holidays on her friends farm in Ceredigion. Her work is in collections worldwide.

“I spend a lot of time walking, where I live, by the sea and in the mountains, on the tops, valleys and woodland and along the coastal path through the patchwork of fields, cliff tops and beaches. I find great inspiration for my paintings, particularly the animals, both wild and domesticated, on land, in the sky and the sea. 

Cats, dogs, birds, foxes and hares are all a major source of inspiration. Light on feather or fur and a watchful eye.”
