Following success in Paris as part of an international exhibition exchange with La Societe Francaise de L’Aquarelle, members of the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales were put in touch with the Nordic Watercolour Society (NAS) and are now taking part in an exhibition run by them in Reykjavic Iceland in November at one of the most prestigious exhibition centres in Europe, The Nordic House. Of the 100 paintings to be shown, a third will be from the Welsh Society, a third from Iceland and the other third from the other Nordic Watercolour Societies of Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Those taking part are organiser Janis Fry, President Robert Macdonald, Andrea Kelland, Tony Douglas Jones, Glenn Ibbitson, Nigel Pugh, Wendy Yeo, Angela Kingston, Garrod Roberts, Chris Griffin, Chris Last, Ifor Davies, Sheila Edwards, Audrey Meadowcroft, Alan Young, Jacob Buckland, Nia Lloyd Reed and Neil Johnson. The exhibition will also feature the work of the late George Little.
RWSW will return the honours next summer when the Nordic Society will show their work with RWSW at an exhibition which will mark the reopening of the refurbished Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery, Brecon.
